MEET THE BRAINS BEHIND MBEWE LEGAL PRACTICE
Meet Mrs Mbewe, an admitted Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer in the High Courts of Botswana with almost a decade of experience, she graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Attorney Mbewe is the Founder and Lead attorney of MBEWE LEGAL PRACTICE ,a female led and inclusive firm that is based and practices in Gaborone and is one of the leading legal firms in the country.
Mbewe Legal Practice was formed on the 1st of July 2016, with its mission and vision of being a female led and citizen owned firm in a fraternity that has been male dominated for years, the firms purpose is to provide opportunity to women and to confirm the capabilities of women in the legal fraternity by requesting the provision of equal access to opportunities and resources. In so doing, remembering to be a firm that is inclusive.

Attorney Mbewe has also co - founded Baagisanyi network which is a group to fight GBV and with its first launch being in 2021 by the Minister of Health. She has also founded Legal Ladies Botswana which provides mentorship to young ladies and law students to assist them navigate and be successful women in their own right.
Running her private legal practice, she accumulated and sharpened skills in strategic business management, and leadership and continues to use her acquired skills to mentor young and upcoming females and lawyers through internship and experience sharing networks and seminars.She imparts legal knowledge to the nation on various platforms, tv, radio and social media and is a proponent of change, accountability and inclusivity. Mbewe is also an enthusiastic community development mobilizer of note. She is a passionate, hardworking and focused woman of many accolades.
Her advice to women was "they should fine themselves as early as possible, and to know that their uniqueness is their power. That they should be unapologetic for taking up space and be the change they wish to see. If there is no opportunity, create it. Lastly that as women we are not “built to shrink down into less but rather to blossom into more.”
