FROM BEING A SHIELD OF THE NATION TO INNOVATING A LIGHT OF HOPE

Meet Mr Kedumetse Liphi (33) born in a small village called Senete, who is an Entrepreneur, Innovator, Electronic Engineer, BDF Veteran and Founder and Chief Engineer of Ked-LiphiBw (Pty) Ltd. Ked-Liphi (Pty) Ltd is an innovation driven enterprise incorporated in Botswana as a base of origin since 2016, specializing in Electronics Engineering & innovations and solving problems facing Africans from home to real life changing solutions including Military technology.

With a noble invention under his company called Chedza Solar Backpacks which is one of the innovations that shinned bright at the 2023 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. These waterproof backpacks made of canvas, has a life span of five years, a solar panel and lithium batteries that helps store power during the day, which can then be used for lighting at night. Also, the backpack has a USB port that facilitates the charging of cell phones as well as laptops. The backpacks will soon hit the stores at the cost of around P812 (US$60) per bag.

Mr Liphi's work has so far made a positive impact on the lives of Africans, as he participated in community building activities that boosts Sustainable Development Goals 4, 7 & 13. This past year only, he was a recipient of the below mentioned awards:
- Climate Change and Mitigation Award 2023 ( UNCCC COP 28)
- SEED Climate Adaptation Award 2023
- Best In Innovation & Technology Award 2023 (BYA 2023)
- Best Male of the Year Award 2023 (BYA 2023)
He is also an international recognized innovator and a member of Pan African Game Chargers network.
